How to Create a Cost Center
How to Create a Cost Center
Overview: Cost centers let your company control purchasing by defining budgets, delivery addresses, user groups, and allowed products. Once created, a cost center becomes available for buyers to select at checkout.
Steps:
- Navigate to Cost Centers from account management.
- Click Create New Cost Center.
- Fill in the form:
- Cost Center Name — a recognizable label for this center.
- Budget (CAP) — the total spending limit for this cost center.
- Monthly Limit (optional) — set a per-address monthly cap, or toggle Unlimited if no monthly cap is needed. The monthly limit cannot exceed the budget.
- Delivery Addresses — select one or more addresses (required). You can select all, or create a new address directly from the dropdown.
- Billing Addresses — select one or more (required). You can select all.
- User Groups — link company departments (optional).
- Allowed Products — search and add products (optional). If left empty, all available products will be visible.
- Click Save.
💡 Note: The monthly limit applies independently to each delivery address linked to this cost center.
Tips:
- If a delivery address should have no spending cap, enable the Unlimited Monthly Limit toggle for that address.
- If you leave Allowed Products empty, buyers will see the full catalog — no restriction is applied.
- Start and end dates control when the cost center is active. An expired or future-dated cost center won't appear in the checkout dropdown.
